From effort to letting go with Liz Carrasquel

Everything that demands pushing, and excessive effort, ends up wearing us out and leaving us drained, and exhausted.

Our yoga practice can help us restore and balance our inner self when we discover the qualities of softness and security that are deeply needed.

We will approach this by exploring the asanas in backbends, discovering the qualities of safety and support that we need to foster to let go of the effort and allow the receptive opening to emerge.

We will explore, breathing and conscious movement techniques in backbends, chanting and yoga philosophy for understanding and self-study.

ABOUT LIZ

Liz started practicing Yoga 20 years ago in Venezuela. In the beginning, she practiced different styles of yoga until she found Ashtanga Yoga while living in California where she had the chance to practice with Tim Miller and had the privilege to take his teacher training.

Driven by the benefits of the practice she devoted herself completely to its study in 2008, when she traveled to India and practiced with Lino Miele. Later she started attending KPJAYI in Mysore to deepen her practice, under the guidance of her teacher Sharath Jois, who authorized her in 2016 to teach Ashtanga Yoga. She also assisted him several times.

In Caracas, Venezuela, she founded Estudio Samasthitih, dedicated to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. She has taught in Frankfurt for many years and currently, she is holding space in her shala in A Coruña, Spain.
